How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Well, more like how I’m going to spend my summer vacation.

Today was my last day of work this week as Rick and I decided to take some much needed PTO. Seriously, working from home, while enjoyable, still isn’t something I would necessarily classify as “easy.” And a lot of the day, when not in meetings or tackling web projects, was spent in anticipation of a special delivery to arrive – a special delivery that is a big part of our time off.

What is it, you ask?

A. Big. Green. Dumpster.

Isn’t it beautiful?

Yup! We rented a dumpster from Bin There Dump That for the week. And I’m stupidly excited about it.

Stupidly.

We’re going to spend the next 4 days channeling our inner HGTV, DIY, TLC selves and throwing away all the shit. And in the process, we’re going to organize! And get rid of clutter! And maybe list some stuff for sale on FB. But mostly throw stuff away!

Seriously, I’m breathing a bit easier just thinking about it.

Clutter tends to make my anxiety ratchet up (thanks, GAD!), and unfortunately there’s a lot of it in our house. Comes with the territory of parenthood, but still. No more! Well, at least for the time being. Let’s be honest. But hey, at least it will take a long time before it gets bad again!

I can’t wait! Here’s to making Marie Kondo proud.
